Homage to Eastbourne Pier, 8/8/2014
I was struck by how much burnt wood there was on the high tide line of St Leonards Beach yesterday. Of course, it has washed down from the fire at Eastbourne Pier on 30th July 2014. The surprise was, when I walked along the high tide line, not all of the black stuff was burnt wood.

As well as my daily iPad paintings, this post includes a portrait I made of one of my relatives, Peter Boxwell.
Scarborough holiday #APAD
We’ve just been staying for a week in Scarborough Fair, a holiday cottage in Scarborough, Yorkshire. We had a FAB time.
Mission slippage? – 2 weeks’ worth of paintings
This is the second time running I’ve posted my paintings after 2 weeks not one. Still doing them every day though!
Limiting my palette.
I’ve been so busy for the last fortnight that I haven’t got around to uploading my paintings a day. Recently I have been experimenting with an extremely limited palette. This is with a view to making some images to be used on vitreous enamel signs to be used around St Leonards on Sea. Watch this space.
Camping, Marine Court and stuff. #APAD
Some more images for your viewing pleasure.
Exciting skies, #APAD

(That’s not Nicky running. I was trying to do the winner of the 5k, but only got a split second to capture her).
A busy week #APAD
Quite a busy time this week, but I’m continuing to make my daily painting, even if I’m posting them a bit late. Two of the images have been made from the train. It’s been important to me that they are made on the journey, relying on memory rather than relying on a photograph.
