It’s very nice to have a continuing artist project that I can do even when my studio is temporarily unusable.

My Heart Belongs to Hastings
It’s amazing how aware of the weather you become when making a painting outside every day.
It’s not upside-down!
Two new oil and mixed media paintings.
Fat Tuesday and the Lanes Brighton
The iPad paintings continue. It’s been about very rapid paintings this week. Trying to capture ‘Now and Then’ during a 15 minute gig and The Lanes in Brighton and Hastings Pier in the rain.
The last of Februrary’s paintings
Here are the last couple of daily paintings I made in February.
You may also have noticed that I’ve rejigged the website, so that A Painting a Day 2014 has it’s own page, accessed through the Gallery tab. A Painting a Day 2014 is subdivided into months.
It’s illegal to draw in Priory Meadows Shopping Centre Hastings!
For today’s painting I thought I’d do some reportage painting. I liked the idea of taking the time to create a painting from life when so many people could just snap a picture on their camera phone. H&M are just fitting a new shop in Priory Meadows Hastings and I thought it would be good to capture the front being fitted. I was amazed to be asked to leave by the security guard as it was private property and I needed special permission to draw there!
Better weather for traveling.
We’ve been up to Scarborough, North Yorkshire this week. Although the trains are still not running properly, we were lucky with the weather.
Lots of weather. A painting a day
This week I’ve spent quite a lot of my time hiding from the weather in cafés perfecting how to render steamed up windows with rain on them.
A painting a day
It’s been a while since my last post as I’ve been in Marrakech. It’s all change with the rules now. Sea couldn’t play a part in my Moroccan paintings!
A painting a day. Towards the end of January.
Bit late posting this week’s paintings. As you can see there’s been some mission slippage with Wednesday’s painting happening in a café, where it turned out I couldn’t actually see the sea. Next week I’m in Marrakech, so I doubt the paintings I make there will have all that much sea in them either.
