Lots going on this week. I’ve been loving the colours of the sea, and seem to want to keep painting the horizon. Oh yeah, and an amazing birthday trip to see the Matisse cut outs at the Tate Modern.

This week I’ve been experimenting with different drawing and painting Apps. It always takes a while to get used to a new program. Here are some of the better results.
Developing a more poster-like style of painting on the iPad
Each week I set myself a mini theme, which I usually don’t follow. For most of the week I’ve seeing how much detail I can leave out, but still have the subject of the image clear. I hope you think it’s working OK.
Lovely spring weather for painting
It’s been lovely and springlike this week, which has created some excellent conditions for painting outside.
100 days of A Painting A #APAD
In fact, it turns out that my last post contained the 10th April, (day 100 of 2014), but as I’d forgotten to upload the image from 31st March, there were only 99 paintings online. That’s all sorted now, and here are a few more daily paintings.
Lots of misty seas this week #APAD
I’ve been loving the weather this week. Plenty of opportunity to perfect subtle colour variations of sky and sea. Then lightning fast sketches at Beatles Day 15 at the weekend.
A busy week
I’m still busy with the studio move, so have been a bit slow uploading the images this week.

We’ve been up to Scarborough, North Yorkshire this week. Although the trains are still not running properly, we were lucky with the weather.
